Fostering Future Leaders

Who We Are

London Business School (LBS) Board Fellows Programme (BFP) is an initiative led by current and former LBS students who believe in fostering future leaders. Our programme aims to develop leadership skills, resulting in responsible corporate citizens and instilling accountability for leadership actions.  We emphasise corporate social responsibility and giving back to the community – a reminder of the social duty that should continue post-graduation and throughout all careers.

If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.

Albert Einstein

What We Do

We find the right match for LBS fellows to board roles, with firms that appreciate the work & life experience of LBS candidates. Including the skills, they bring to the table, whilst learning about Corporate Governance, as they shadow or sit on the board (depending on the fellow’s experience). Find the Right Talent

We help you find the right talent at no cost to expand the expertise on your board.

Access to Resources

Our association helps gain access to LBS resources, thought pieces, and knowledge base.

Unique Perspective

We help develop an opportunity to blend fresh perspectives of people outside the organisation.

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Winston Churchill

How We Do It

The Board Fellows Programme matches students with board roles. Fellows will have the opportunity to design and implement new strategies and gain exposure to senior business leaders over 6-24 months. Firms have a global pool of LBS candidates with a breadth of skills to choose from.

About

LBS BFP was started by Julia Guren who spotted the need for a scheme that allowed young professionals from diverse backgrounds to gain practical board experience and revived by Sarah Page who made it into an international outfit by expanding the initiative to Dubai. She passed the torch to fellow LBS EMBA Susan Yu, who brought the progamme up to a professional level where corporate mandates for paid NED roles are now being offered, and is now board advisor for the programme. Deboleena Dasgupta is the current president of the LBS BFP, and is looking to take the programme to the next level. With Vyla Rollins and Simon Osborne from the Leadership Institute supporting the initiative, we can look forward to great works in the pipeline.
